Ryan Air and airsafety
I still haven't found any logical, reasonable explanation for Michael O'Leary's, Vice President of the European lowbudget airline Ryan Air, recent statement that remove the first officer on all their flights in an attempt to reduce operational costs, quoting "the flight is mostly run by a computer anyway". Hello?! Mr O'Leary? Have you even stopped to consider airsafety and airline regulations? Does Mr O'Leary even have the faintest idea what the first officer do? On the bright side though, several Ryan Air pilots have, for the first time, openly commented on their managements decision. In a letter addressed to the Financial Times, Ryan Air pilot Morgan Fischer has his own idea on how to cut operational costs by "replacing the Vice President with junior cabin crew (which earns about 13,000 British Pounds annually after taxes). Ryan Air would thus earn millions in wages and bonuses every year".
To Morgan Fischers suggestion, I must enthustiastically exclaim "Go Go Go Go!"
